Autumn again

Autumn again.
It's small leaves
on my window sill.
My eyes wonder no longer
any more.
My eye lashes moisten
as the first rain
falls on the slats
at the cemetery's
gate.

"Autumn again"
He once wrote;
It's leaves are falling
from the heights of trees,
creating a magic carpet
on the gloomy pavement.
There is no first rain here
to classify the seasons,
but an annoying drizzle
which carries leaves to their final death
in Camden Town, London,
on a chilling, nasty day.
